The First Global Summit: A Holistic Approach to Dancer Well-Being is a comprehensive event focused on the holistic health of dancers. Recognizing the daily physical strains, mental pressures, and emotional hurdles inherent in the dance profession, this summit offers practical strategies to navigate these challenges effectively.
Central to our discussions is Transcendental Meditation (TM), a simple, evidence-based technique practiced for 15–20 minutes twice daily. TM has been shown to reduce stress, enhance focus, and improve overall well-being. Its benefits have been acknowledged by various organizations, including the American Heart Association, which emphasizes the importance of stress reduction in cardiovascular health .

Performing Beyond Limits and the Academy advocates the Science of Consciousness and technology of Transcendental Meditation (TM) as a simple, natural effective means to support the professional and personal life of the dancer. TM has been documented by hundreds of peer-reviewed scientific research studies over the past 60 years. Dancers and performing artists of all genres who have integrated TM into their daily routines, cultivate an integrated state of mental and physical health, personal well-being, and creative excellence, allowing dancers to more naturally and effectively achieve their goals.

Performing Beyond Limits First Global Summit
The Performing Beyond Limits Summit features presentations by globally recognized experts in the fields of dance, the arts, brain research, and wellness – in the light of the Science of Consciousness.
The Summit will present strategies to navigate present-day challenges facing dancers, and an expanded vision of how to maximize the professional and personal life of the dancer and performing artist.
Speakers
Dr. Anthony Miles, is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, London, and is the founding president of the Academy of Arts for Enlightenment
He holds an Advanced Diploma in Merchandising Design from the University of the Arts, London, UK, and was awarded a Doctorate in World Peace from Maharishi European Research University, Switzerland. At the age of 21, Dr. Miles began working on the international staff of the Transcendental Meditation organization as a designer, working with Maharishi for 20 years. Under Maharishi’s guidance he spent five years undertaking advanced research in Maharishi Vedic Science, art and architecture. A global non-profit organization dedicated to raising consciousness in the Arts through the Science of Consciousness.
Florian Tilly is the Founding Director of Performing Beyond Limits, Vice President of the Transcendental Meditation Association – France, and Director of Performing Arts at The Academy of Arts for Enlightenment
He is a dedicated advocate for the well-being of artists, blending his expertise in ballet and consciousness development. As a former ballet teacher and certified Transcendental Meditation (TM) teacher, he brings a unique approach to nurturing both artistic excellence and inner balance. In his role as Director of Performing Arts at the Academy of Arts for Enlightenment, he guides performers toward greater creativity, resilience, and self-discovery through Transcendental Meditation.
Fred Travis, PhD Chair of the Department of Maharishi Vedic Science, Professor of Maharishi Vedic Science
Dr. Travis is Professor of Maharishi Vedic Science, Chair of the Department of Maharishi Vedic Science, Dean of the Graduate School, and Director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness, & Cognition. He earned an MS and a PhD in Psychology from Maharishi International University and a BS in Design and Environmental Analysis from Cornell University. His research interests are in psychophysiological correlates of higher states of consciousness; psychophysiological correlates of reading Vedic literature; investigation of models of higher states of consciousness; the effects of Transcendental Meditation® practice on child development; and the effects of Transcendental Meditation practice on promoting healthy aging.
